With no-one to care for them, to raise their food or to educate them, many children's futures hang in the balance.
Western drug treatments are too expensive for the health services of many developing countries. This makes prevention a crucial defence against the virus. By sharing knowledge about HIV, sexual health and relationships they can equip young people with the skills and understanding to protect themselves from infection.
