Frequently asked questions

How should I measure a window for blinds?

The merchant advises taking width measurements in three places, as well as measuring the drop. Its measuring guide includes step-by-step instructions and a video.

What is the difference between recess size and blind size?

Recess size refers to the internal measurements of the window reveal. Blind size is the exact size requested for the blind, including brackets.

What happens when I provide a recess size?

Order Blinds asks for the exact wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-sill measurements without reductions. It makes a width reduction that varies according to the type of blind.

How do I measure a bay window?

The merchant asks for measurements of the available space and the angle of the bay. It then makes the reductions for the corners where blinds meet.

What measurements are needed for Total Blackout roller blinds?

The merchant asks for seven measurements. These are three width measurements, three height measurements and one depth measurement.

How are Total Blackout cassetted blinds fitted?

The merchant says these blinds do not require drilling. Its fitting instructions specify a hammer and screwdriver, and a video shows the steps.

Can the control side of a roller blind be changed?

The control mechanism and pin can be moved to opposite ends of the roller blind tube. If the blind is already fitted, the brackets may also need to be swapped.

How do I find the size for a skylight blind?

Order Blinds provides an identifying guide for skylight windows. It explains how to work out the blind size to order.
